Jaguar XK-E Changing Sports Car Norms

Posted in Sports Car by Admin

During the early stages of the Jaguar XK-E, the vehicle was supposedly planned to be marketed as a grand tourer. In fact, it was shown to be public as such. However, changes were made and now, the Jaguar XK-E holds two seats and has been crafted and manufactured to be a coupe, and as a convertible. The coupe body trim is known as the FHC or the Fixed Head Coupe, while on the other hand, the convertible is known as the OTS or the Open Two Seater.

Several years after its release, the Jaguar XK-E welcomed a new version in its line and it was the 2 + 2 version. This new model had a much longer wheelbase compared to the earlier versions. Also, people who have come to be followers of the Jaguar XK-E says that, indeed, there have been three generations of this vehicle and these are called the “Series 1″, the “Series 2″, and the “Series 3″.

The Jaguar XK-E is also known as the Jaguar E Type. Many people agree that it is one of the greatest cars that have been ever built for it holds not only style and performance by also pedigree. By pedigree, it means that it was exquisitely and carefully done that each part has a specific job to do. In fact, the shell of the Jaguar XK-E has been designed and is the brain child of one very good aerodynamics engineer. Also, it held the engine that had high specifications and features. This engine held greater power and capacity compared to the famous Jaguar XK engine.

From 1961 and up until 1974, the Jaguar XK-E roared on the streets and made heads turn. It was actually manufactured by Jaguar Cars. Going back to automobile history, this vehicle and sports car was very much responsible for paving the way in revolutionizing and changing the sports cars designs as well as the sports cars’ performance, and handling. This vehicle was also marketed to be one of the not-so-pricey and that certainly helped the Jaguar XK-E in boosting its sales as well as its popularity.

Car Insurance Rate Teen – Give Them Something Safe!

Posted in Car Insurance Rate by Admin

It’s probably safe to say that all teens look forward to their sixteenth birthdays so they can gain the privilege of driving. Driving offers freedom, responsibility, and an overall “grown up” feeling for teens. And it’s probably also safe to say that most teens not only want their own vehicle, but they want a “cool” vehicle, as well. After all, no one wants to drive to school in Dad’s old work truck, right? Regardless of whether you purchase your teen his or her own vehicle, or lend them the family car, one of the best ways to get a low car insurance rate for your teen driver is to make sure your teen driver is driving a safe vehicle.

If you choose a safe vehicle for your teen driver, not only are you better protecting your teen and the passengers, but you’re also protecting the vehicle itself. Insurance companies will look at how much it’s going to cost to repair the vehicle in the event of an accident, as well as how safe your teen and the passengers will be inside the vehicle in the event of an accident. Insurance companies will look at statistics such as crash test ratings and features such as air bags for both drivers and passengers, so you should research them as well when you head out to purchase your teen’s vehicle.

So, once you head out to shop for a vehicle for your teen, keep in mind that car insurance rates for teens tend to be lower when you choose a sturdy vehicle with plenty of safety features. And if you plan to just loan one of the family cars to your teen? Opt for the safest one! By taking these steps, not only do you have a greater chance for lower car insurance rates for your teen driver, but you’re also helping to ensure the safety of your teen as well as passengers.

Planning a Car Rental

Posted in Car Rental by Admin

With rising gas prices, driving causes more headaches than it used to. When traveling, though, you may need to rely on a car rental. There are ways to save money if you plan well. Next time you’re looking for a quality, affordable car rental, consider the following:

1. A car rental at the airport sometimes costs more than at a nearby agency. Compare prices ahead of time; it may be worth taking a taxi a few miles to pick up the vehicle at a different rental location.

2. Choose a no-frills car rental. Many less-luxurious cars get better mileage.

3. Car rental agencies usually have better deals on compact cars. If you don’t need the space, why pay for it? Compact cars also get better mileage.

4. A car rental is usually more costly if you pick up the vehicle at one location and drop it off at another. However, consider the price of returning to the original locale. Is it cheaper to pay for the gas or for the drop-off? This might sway your decision a little.

5. Car rental agencies offer prepaid fill-ups when you return the vehicle. Compare their costs with the gas pump prices and decide ahead of time which is a better deal.

6. A weekly car rental usually costs less than paying for five or six days alone. If you’re staying just under a week, you may want to pay this rate and return the car early.

7. Avoid purchasing insurance from the car rental company if possible. Many credit cards cover car rental insurance; in the event of collision or theft you’ll be taken care of. Check your credit card agreement ahead of time.

8. Save the extra driver cost by choosing a designated driver. Some car rental agencies charge more to add a driver.

9. Look for car rental coupons in travel magazines or an Entertainment book. Agencies also give discounts to AAA and AARP members. Be sure to inquire about available deals.

Keeping these factors in mind before your car rental, you can save a substantial amount of money. Shop wisely, and know before you go!
